Here's the April development update for Curry Princess GOLD.

🎁Improved Special Item Presentation

I revised the presentation for the special item acquisition scenes. Since these are important moments for players, I adjusted them to feel more natural and special. You can see how this looks at the beginning of the video linked below.

🍛Stage Debugging

I've been debugging the first three stages of Story Mode and the Ruins stage in 2P Mode. To avoid overwhelming players new to action games, the five tutorials I split up last month now appear between stages, allowing players to gradually learn new abilities.

🏆Leaderboard Debugging

I redesigned the cross-platform leaderboard and continued debugging. This system allows players to share scores between Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam), so you can compete with players around the world. You can see the leaderboard screen in the latter half of the video.

🌟Pause & Options Menu Implementation & Debugging

I continued debugging the Pause Menu and worked on implementing and debugging the Options Menu.

The Gameplay section of the Options Menu now includes the following settings:

  • Language setting (Japanese/English)

  • Camera shake on damage (on/off)

  • Text Sound (on/off)

  • Text display speed

  • Game tempo: Choose from Slow, Normal, or Fast

The game tempo setting particularly affects the overall rhythm of the game, including spice fall speed and enemy attack speed. Players unfamiliar with action games can play comfortably at "Slow," while those seeking a challenging experience can enjoy tense gameplay at "Fast." (Leaderboards are separated by tempo.)

🎦This Month's Video

  • NoteAs of May 2, 2026, the leaderboard UI design has been completely changed from what's shown in the video.

🌛Closing

I will continue developing the game with the goal of creating an experience that everyone can enjoy at their own pace. Stay tuned for the next progress report!
