Cup and Counter: Coffee Shop Simulator changes
There is only one week left until Cup and Counter releases! With the release coming up so fast, we have been spending a lot of time ensuring the game is polished, stable, and as bug-free as we can make it. This particular patch continues polishing and bug fixing for the game.
The largest change we have made in this update is reworking how milk steam levels are presented to you as a player. Prior to this update, we would simply show every possible drink that matched the current level; now, we show the steam level you want to achieve and whether you have hit it.
We have also made changes to make placing items in front of customers easier.
On top of this, we have also added our initial support for the Korean language, more work needs to go into all of our translations but it should be at a good point now.
Beyond what we have shown here, we have been doing a lot of work on finishing up the later game systems, this includes the employees, takeout system, delivery system, ice based drinks, ice-cream drinks, and blended drinks.
0.1.30
Additions / Major Fixes
Added initial support for Korean
Fixed a critical bug that could happen in the tutorial. If the customer made a request and you rejected it, you would end up softlocked. This issue has now been resolved, and tutorial customers should never make requests.
Reworked the way milk steam levels are presented to the player. This should make it clearer and less confusing. The order ticket and drink information now show that you are meant to steam it, indicating the steam level.
Fixed a collision and layering issue that would make it more difficult than it needed to be to place items in front of a user.
Fixes / Minor Improvements
The corridor to the staff room now disappears/drops off when you buy the second expansion.
Fixed ceilings missing their correct tag and not showing the right options.
Fixed an issue that could enable you to place down an item when you are currently looking at an interactable
Fixed the "full" bookshelf items having physics enabled and falling through the world
Fixed part of the empty game world being visible when viewed right at the world's edge
More work to improve an issue that can occur where a cup can't be placed into a machine slot till you put it down and pick it back up.
Add additional protections so that the mouse doesn't appear on the screen when it shouldn't be
Rebalanced sandwiches. Supply boxes now only give you four, but the price was lowered accordingly. The lifespan of the sandwiches was also increased from 1 day to 2 days.
Balanced lifespan for cake pieces, they will now last roughly double what they used to.
Fixed an alignment issue that could happen with counters; this was particularly noticeable with corner pieces.
Corrected several issues with queue generation that could lead to NPCS standing in the middle of tables.
Resolved various spelling mistakes in the English translation of the game.
Various tweaks to the visual style of the cafe and apartment building
Fixed the power box noise being abnormally loud at a distance
Tweaked the fog volumetrics to improve overall visuals and not look like the place was constantly in super heavy fog, especially indoors
Removed the freshness data from coffee cups; they will still go spoiled if not delivered/ drunk by the end of the day, but the data showing this is now hidden, as it just consumed a lot of space for little gains.
