Additions:
New Side Quest: Scene of the Crime
Somewhere on the map will be the scene of the crime, only locatable by using UV to find the blood pool.
By using 5 burn materials and a lighter, you can burn the confession note at the crime scene for extra XP, as well as gain an extra bonus perk for the round.
The ghost lowers power level down a few points.
Added New Usable Items:
Scrap:
Scrap will spawn throughout the map inside drawers and cabinets. Each scrap box will yield 1-3 scraps, unless you are using the new perk Handy, in which case it will yield 2-5. You can only hold 8 (12 for Handy) at a time so you have to drop them off at the crafting station as you go. The amount of total scrap on the map is semi-random, but there is a high probability that you will not have enough to craft every type of gear, so choose wisely.
Crafting Station:
The crafting station is where you can craft any of the available tools. Every garage is a potential spawning spot for one, but only one exists on the map. When interacting with the table, you will deposit any scrap you have on you and add it to the table total, which is shared by everyone in multiplayer. When an item is crafted, the count will be reduced by the required amount. Crafting takes time and needs a player standing nearby to happen. If the player standing nearby has Handy, crafting will complete faster.
Flashlight Battery:
Your flashlight now slowly dims over time. It takes about 3.5 minutes to go completely out. You can refill your battery by finding them around the map in drawers, cabinets, and in various open areas. Batteries act as "recharge stations", they won't disappear when you use them so once you find one, you can always come back there to recharge. They do have a cool down and can't be spammed.
Lighter:
The lighter is used to light the new candles around the map. The lighter is required to complete the main ritual at the church, so at least one will spawn. This item is found in the Kitchen, on tables and/or in drawers and cabinets.
Candles
Candles are stationary light sources that can be lit with a lighter in your inventory, or blown out by any player. These lights don't go out when the ghost cuts the power, and can help you navigate in the dark if your flashlight dies. However, the ghost has a small percent chance to blow the candle out when passing by it.
Revamped EMF Detector
Crafted at the new workbench, can detect the area the ghost is in. It will activate a sound when passing by the ghost.
Revamped Activity Meter
Crafted at the new workbench, use to see how many times an item has been touched by the ghost. When this is in your inventory, right click an item to see it's touch count.
Revamped UV Flashlight
Crafted at the new workbench, use to see invisible blood splatters that will lead you to the new crime scene objective. When this item is in your inventory, hold the flashlight toggle button to enter UV mode. Your flashlight will turn purple and you will be able to see invisible blood splatters. Your main flashlight and UV flashlight share battery life, and UV will drain your battery faster.
Drawers and cabinets that have items in them will be highlighted when hovered over, drawers and cabinets that have nothing in them aren't interactable and don't open (unless there was an item in there previously and has since been taken)
Added a few new items to the list of possible ghost items.
New Perk:
- HandyPicking up scrap will yield 2-5 pieces instead of 1-3. Crafting is twice as fast. • With the addition a new perk, level requirements for perks have slightly changed. If you recently unlocked a perk, it may be locked again due to the level shifting.
New Graveyard Areas:
The Graveyard is now three distinct areas on this map, one behind red house (the original), one behind yellow, and one at the end of the road. The ghost's burial site will now be randomized at one of these 3 locations. Here you'll also need to find the church Altar's offering bowl, required to complete the ritual. The burial site has a very low percent to spawn a shovel on top of it.
New Steam Achievement for completing the Crime Scene Side Quest.
Changes:
Changed how the game decides what doors to lock and where keys are located.
Sheds will now always be locked, with the key being somewhere inside the house.
Front doors will always be locked and have no key; they must be opened from the inside.
Back doors will be locked 90% of the time, with the key spawning somewhere in the back yard.
Garage doors will be closed 90% of the time. As of now they are not able to be opened or closed.
Tuned Ghost AI
Lowered the search radius around the player who initiated the hunt.
Previously, if the hunted player lost line of sight of the ghost, the ghost's search radius around the player was fairly large, making it unlikely the ghost would find the player again. With a lower radius, the ghost will wander a lot closer to the hunted player after losing line of sight, making it more likely for the player to be found if not hiding in a safe hiding place.
Increased percentages for most attacks and lowered cooldown time
Increased likelihood of the ghost teleporting to the player after certain actions, further increasing the likelihood of an attack.
Some of these actions include: picking up burn materials, picking up gear and key items, unlocking doors, etc.
Shovel Spawns are back down to 1 shovel and is still found in sheds, but no longer found in garages.
Completing the murder weapon side quest will yield an extra perk as a reward.
UI Changes:
When joining a game, you now need to click a button to close the loading screen. This gives you a chance to read anything on there without it disappearing on you.
Locked doors display the name of the door.
Players' names above their heads are now in screen space and only appear when close enough and hovering over their player character.
Environmental Changes
Added some more props and clutter to make the world feel a little less barren.
Skeleton Key Perk:
Skeleton Key now has a massive downside: The ghost will always teleport to your location when used, and has a chance to become temporarily more powerful. To avoid this, you need to find and use the proper key.
Fixes:
Fixed some player animations being wrong.
