addedDemo1.1.0 - Tutorial OverhaulSince the demo launched I have been hard at work on fixing bugs and making quality of life improvements. New content might slow down for a bit after this update because I am moving houses at the moment but I should be able to get back to work on the demo soon. Steam allows you to hook up some stats to games to see roughly where people were getting stuck and/or dying, and I found that a majority of people were getting stuck or quitting at the tutorial. Only a third of people completed it, and many people died in the first level with only 10% of people finishing level 1.
addedDemo1.1.0 - Tutorial OverhaulI think the big issue was that the tutorial was both too long and had some flaws that some people were getting stuck on. So in response I have improved or completely remade the most problematic areas. Its now much more interesting, has way less filler at the start, and should do a better job at introducing the player to the game. Its also a lot prettier with the house set inside a canyon instead of boring flat sand. Even if you've done it already I recommend you check out the new starting area!
addedPatch notesThe tutorial has been completely reworked: New starting area Rewrote introduction section to be a lot shorter and removed the unnecessary intro dialogue Letters and tooltips are more helpful and informative and redid a lot of the writing

Demo1.1.0 - Tutorial Overhaul

Hello everyone!

Since the demo launched I have been hard at work on fixing bugs and making quality of life improvements.

I think the big issue was that the tutorial was both too long and had some flaws that some people were getting stuck on.

I also wasn't very happy with the writing, so I redid it all to both get to the point quicker and hopefully be less of a snooze fest. With all of this combined I hope it will represent the game much better than the old tutorial had done. The next thing I want to tackle after that is balancing to reduce the difficulty curve, which will come in a future update.

Anyway, I hope you find the changes enjoyable!
