Playtest #2 Changelog

Features

  • New Game Mode: 4 Player Battle Mode, first player with 3 takedowns wins.

    • Added 2 original battle mode maps.

    • Pickup balloons have a 20 seconds respawn timer.

    • Number of mines has been adjusted to 3.

  • Added party system and invites to start matchmaking with a group of friends

    • The party system supports local couch players, which allows couch vs couch vs couch setups.

  • Added support for PS5 and PS4 controllers, including basic adaptive trigger logic for PS5 controllers.

  • Major UI Rewrite to properly support controller navigation throughout the game.

  • First iteration of Photo Mode is now available.

  • Added a training tutorial.

  • Press tab to open a player screen, showing who is present in a session.

Gameplay

  • Game now starts with the flight training before you join your first match.

  • Added a kill feed that shows player takedowns.

  • Reduced time to hatch per egg from 12 to 10 seconds.

  • The item distribution now changes based on distance to leader instead of race position.

  • Item pickup chances are now adjusted per item to reduce or increase chances for certain items.

  • Coins Item now changes amount of coins based on race position:

    • First Place: 1 Coin

    • Second Place: 2 Coins

    • Third to Sixth: 3 Coins

    • Otherwise 5 Coins

  • Props like fences, crates and hay stacks are now fully destructible on collision.

    • There could still be some props that are not properly set up.

    • In the future, we plan to support destruction from weapons.

  • Added Bot Difficulty scaling on dedicated servers based on average ELO of human players and we have lowered the default difficulty.

  • Drastically increased seeker speed when far behind.

  • Increased seeker explosion range detection from 2000 to 3000.

  • Increased seeker missile lifetime from 15 to 30s.

  • Decreased seeker spawning chance by 50%.

  • Increased homing missile lifetime from 15 to 20s.

  • Tweaked Carrier Rocket behavior to feel more natural.

Visuals & Audio

  • Improved UI visuals. UI remains in prototype state and does not reflect quality target.

  • Smoke Cloud becomes see-through while flying through.

  • Added wheel suspension when touching the ground.

  • Seeker missile has received a thicker and more visible trail to improve readability.

  • New version for shield VFX.

  • The MG and rockets now have impact FX adjusted per surface.

  • Added new FX when turning the engine on.

  • Added Takedown FX that already existed to Hits from Sonic Bomb and Carrier Rocket.

  • Added VFX & SFX for Rudder Kick and Barrel Roll Maneuvers.

  • Added new Wind FX when drifting.

  • Bloom pass on all maps.

  • Toned down intensity of turbo glow.

  • Added SFX for mines dropped and activated events.

  • New coin FXs.

  • New balloon pop FX.

  • Added Environment FX on Canyon, Islands and the Dam maps.

  • Added additional wing hit FX depending on environment surface.

  • Added Missile Splash FX on water.

  • Plane names are now shown on selection screen.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed FINISHED and ENDS IN [X SECONDS] labels on multiplayer to correctly reflect the state of the current player and race.

  • Fixed a bug where the Turbo Rocket Power-Up would sometimes only start on client but not on server.

  • Fixed a bug where a player with high lag could use a power-up that was no longer equipped on the server.

  • The game start countdown and game start UI event should now correctly sync with the actual game start in multiplayer

  • Fixed default camera not using rotation lag as intended

  • Fixed a bug where a leaving player was not replaced by a bot at the start of the next match.

Known Issues

  • Going to fullscreen mode and selecting a resolution other than the native display resolution can result in mouse overlapping issues. In this case please switch to the native display resolution.

  • On some maps, the water may occasionally turn white and look broken. To resolve this, go to settings, video quality settings, and switch the foliage quality between medium and high.
