Couch Planes changes
First of all, thank you for all the feedback you shared with us during the previous playtests. We’ve been reading it carefully and working on a new round of tweaks based both on your comments and on a few ideas we wanted to try ourselves.
Playtest 2.1 focuses mainly on how Couch Planes feels in the air and in your hands.
Here’s what we’d especially like you to test:
Updated drift behavior
Updated barrel roll behavior
Updated plane collisions with environment to be smoother and less punishing
New and improved camera options
Separate inputs for drift and barrel roll
Drifting is now available when out of coins
Gamepad RT / LT for acceleration and braking
Light touchdowns no longer interrupting drifting
Automatic reset after a takedown to improve orientation
The goal is simple: we want to know if these changes are moving Couch Planes in the right direction before the next bigger playtest.
For this one, we’re inviting returning playtesters who already have access. Since you played previous builds, your feedback is especially useful here — you can tell us not only how the game feels now, but also how it compares to earlier versions.
And to everyone still waiting for access: we’re not ignoring you. We’re keeping this extra test smaller on purpose, so we can check these changes quickly and make the next bigger playtest a better experience for everyone.
After playing, please fill out the survey. It really helps us understand what works, what still needs tuning, and where we should go next.
Playtest window: 29.05, 4 PM CEST → 31.05, Sunday evening
We’re also planning a livestream session, which you’ll be able to watch on our Discord and YouTube.
