We've found a lot of cool interactions exploring fold immune elements. In particular, interesting things happen if you make an element fold immune and then remove that property.

Toggling the fold immune property can cause relative movement. Normal blocks don't move explicitly but do move when the rest of the world is moved by folding. On the other hand, fold immune blocks truly don't move at all even when folding. But since the rest of the world still moves during a fold, they have relative movement.

This is an example where a lever activates the fold immune property on a block. Normally, it's static and moves with the rest of the world during folds. When it's made fold immune by pressing the lever, it stays in place while the rest of the world moves. It's actual position never changes.

But, if we activate the lever after the platform has been moved by a fold, it will retain it's new position even after unfolding. We then turn off the lever, making the new position permanent.

You can then utilize this behavior to move the platform to a desired location, It's like a moving platform that never actually moves.

This can also be used to transfer the fold immune properties to certain objects. For example, you can move the fold immune platform near the level completion portal, making the latter fold immune. and move it out of an unreachable area, It's like a fishing rod, so to speak.

We're very happy with how the fold immune mechanic is turning out and are confident that it'll be a strong part of the game's endgame puzzles.

Lastly we're working on some visual improvements focusing on lighting and foliage. We're pretty deep into work on the endgame stuff . We'll post another update about in the future.
