Happy new year! We're working on new mechanics and improvements to the game.
First is the light bridge mechanic:
We've shown this a bit last update. They are kind of like lasers but are solid enough to walk on. You may remember them from portal but they have quite a few tricks up their sleeve in this game!
The other mechanic we are working on is an extension of the fold immune static blocks. Any level element can have the fold immunity property, which means they don't move when the rest of the level is folded. Here is an example with a lock and key puzzle that has this property.
The key stays in the same position after folding and slides off the platform.
The key can be used to unlock gates. It might seem impossible since there are two gates and only one key. But you can retrieve of the gate by folding and moving the gates away from the key.
This particular puzzle was inspired by the unrewindable key and lock puzzles in Braid. We're planning to explore the fold immune mechanic in combination with other existing mechanics.
