CODEX MORTIS changes
Hi everyone,
CODEX MORTIS is in Early Access. Your feedback shapes the game directly. If something is not working for you, please share it on the Steam forums or our Discord - it helps far more than a negative review and we read and respond to everything.
New Spell: Blight Carrier (+ 6 Synergies)
Summon a swarm of plague-ridden carriers that sprint straight into the densest cluster of enemies and detonate on impact — burst damage where you need it most.
Summons 3 carriers per cast that seek out the thickest enemy packs
Prioritizes bosses, mini-bosses and elites in target selection
Detonates on contact OR when killed — every carrier explodes, period
When no enemies are in range, carriers fall into formation around you
Upgrades: Max Carriers, Blast Radius, Carrier Speed, Damage, Cooldown
Synergies:
Burning Carrier (+ Soul Burn)
Bleeding Carrier (+ Hemorrhage, max stacks)
Weakening Carrier (+ Weaken)
Slowing Carrier (+ Slow)
Terrifying Carrier (+ Terror)
Confusing Carrier (+ Confusion)
Available now in the Summoning chapter of the Tome.
Scroll Decline Rewards
Declining a scroll now grants souls equivalent to 500 enemy kills, scaled by your souls multiplier and difficulty tier. The reward amount is displayed directly on the Decline card so you always know what you're getting.
New auto-decline toggle: enable it on the scroll selection screen and all future scrolls in the run are automatically declined, granting the souls reward instantly with no UI interruption.
Full gamepad and keyboard navigation supported across all three scroll zones (Accept, Decline, Auto-Decline).
Bug Fixes
Fixed Build Overview (Tab) showing the previous scroll spell's icon and name after picking up a new scroll
Fixed pooled minions sliding across the screen from their previous death location when respawned
Fixed Skeleton Mage damage scaling incorrectly across spawn cycles — mages now properly update their stats on reuse
Quality of Life
Souls counter now formats large numbers with thousand separators (e.g. 1,234,567) across the HUD, Game Over screen, and Character Hub
Thank you for playing CODEX MORTIS.
More updates are on the way.
