Repeated intro
Hello, everyone!
What changed
- Gameplay
I just wanted to take a quick moment to update everyone on Steam Deck support for Clockwork Ambrosia with some bad news... but also some good news!
9 April Update!
We are now testing a Steam Deck compatible build in our Steam Playtest! If all goes well, Steam Deck support (at least Playable status) should be available on launch! More to come...
Old News
The ): News
First, as those who have tried it will already know - unfortunately, right now Clockwork Ambrosia simply doesn't run on the Steam Deck. That's the bad news.
The (: News
The good news is we want to play our little metroidvania on Steam Deck as much as you guys! So I can confirm it is on the roadmap. Ideally, it is something our players will be able to enjoy close to the release date, but right now there are too many unknowns to make a hard promise on when that support will be available.
What I can promise, however, is we will keep you guys updated on any major developments for Steam Deck support - good or bad.
Alibi!
Also, for anyone wondering - how could this be? Well, Clockwork Ambrosia has actually been in development on a custom built, from-scratch and in-house engine for much longer than the Steam Deck! In fact, Nate had an early prototype of the game running in 2011. So we can't say Steam Deck support was something we initially planned for... Because there wasn't one at the time!
That said, we are big fans of the platform and believe strongly in some couch/bed/airplane/etc play for Clockwork Ambrosia. So work will continue. Stay tuned!
