Welcome Back! After almost 4 months of dev logs, we're officially back on track to release! ICYMI: we premiered Circular Fever's return trailer on the youtube channel, check it out!
Circular Fever Launches in Early Access This Summer!
But this leads to the questions: what does the game include? and what's next?
Today, I'm going to answer these questions, in this months edition of the Development Update!
DEMO UPDATE
In previous Devlogs, we mentioned the existence of an update coming to the demo. Rest assured, this is still on the way! We'll have more news VERY shortly.
SONG LIST
Circular Fever will release with 5 songs at launch. We're not ready to show all of them off just yet, but here are the names of each song featured in OST 1:
- Fever Power
- Manic Madness
- Retrograde
- Legacy
"Wait.. that's only 4 songs?" The last song is a secret, you'll have to wait till launch to see that one.
UPDATES?!
We will be providing the game with frequent updates for the foreseeable future. The first update will be OST 2.
As for other updates, we plan to release a full roadmap to launch and beyond later this month, so be on the lookout for that!
CUSTOMISATION
As we have mentioned in previous devlogs, you will be able to customise almost EVERYTHING in Circular Fever Here is some more information on this:
GAME CUSTOMISATION
You can customise every aspect of gameplay, here is a list of all skin types:
- Noteskins
- Backgrounds
- Hitsounds
- Loading Screens
- HUD
- Hit Effects
MENU CUSTOMISATION
Outside of active gameplay, you will also be able to change the way your menu looks!
SETTINGS
You will be able to toggle what is enabled during gameplay, including but not limited to:
- Health, Fever, and Song Progress Bars
- Current Multiplier HUD Aspect
- Hitsounds
- Hit Effects
CUSTOM SKINS
There won't be support for custom skins at launch, but possibly in the future.
SKIN SETS
Skin Sets are pretty self explanatory. Each skin supports different skin types, for example:
The Mania skinset (featured in the new trailer!) has support for noteskins, backgrounds, loading screens, menu customisation, and hit effects.
This means that in the Mania skinset, there is a skin labelled "Mania" for each skintype. Skin Sets will keep track of what skin types you have for each set.
The Mania Skin Set will keep track of all the skintypes listed above that are labelled "Mania"
"What happens when you collect all skins from a Skin Set?" Upon collecting all skins from one Skin Set, it will be labelled as "Completed!" and you will recieve a reward! "What is the reward?" Keep on reading to find out!
THE SHOP
Wow, that's a lot of features for customisation, but how do we actually unlock these skins? The answer for that: is The Shop!
You can access the shop from the main menu, where you'll find a selection of skins to purchase using in-game currencies. This shop selection will refresh commonly, so pick up what you want, before the selection refreshes!
In Circular Fever, you can collect two currency types for free:
COINS
Coins are used to purchase skin types that don't affect gameplay as much as other skin types, these include:
- Menu Skins
- Loading Screens
- Hit Sounds
HUD Skins They are earned based on your highscore each time you play a level. The higher your highscore, the more coins you'll earn!
STARS
Stars are used to purchase skin types that affect gameplay directly. These include:
- Noteskins
- Backgrounds
Hit Effects Stars are harder to earn than coins, being based on how high your max combo was, and your rank.
Currencies are ONLY earned if you complete the level, failing will not add any possible stars or coins to your total. Both currencies feature a first time bonus for playing a level for the first time!
AND THAT'S A WRAP!
This was a long one.
We hope you enjoyed reading through this devlog. Remember: Circular Fever launches into Early Access This Summer!
More info very soon!
Thanks for reading, and we hope to see you again shortly!
