addedOver the past 2 years I've iterated on "AFK Chess". Over those 2 years countless people have told me that they were expecting a different kind of game than the one they got - they expected an idler game. Naturally they are right, the letters "AFK" are basically synonymous with the idler genre, and it was a big mistake on my part to name the game in such a way. Today I'm finally rectifying that mistake, henceforth the game is called "Chessire"! Along with this rename comes the latest and hopefully last major overhaul to the gameplay. This overhaul marks a return to the card-base gameplay. Released is the singleplayer mode of the Ironclad Faction - you build up your board against each enemy, carefully weighing your resources to win battles without overcomitting resources. A lot of work has been done on making a smoother and more pleasant game, complexity was reduced significantly but more work remains to be done here in the future. Steam post image The majority of your army/deckbuilding will be between battles in your Town. A variety of events to choose from to craft your run into a specific direction that you want. Steam post image The events themselves are quite simple, choose 1 of 3 kind of ordeals. Steam post image The battle system has received a lot of work too. More than ever it was designed to be fun both in manual play and auto battling modes. Steam post image And yeah, I like Disco Elysium a lot so naturally the game needs to have dialog trees too. They're mostly optional events but offer good opportunities to those who want to engage with the system. Steam post image Being an overhaul, the content is all brand new - and there's lots of it. Steam post image Now that the major overhaul is complete updates will be more regular. The game is updated basically every couple of days at this point but I'll try to include patch logs every 1/2 weeks to summarise the changes.
