Welcome to this month's development report! In this update, we’re excited to share details about the game loop and explore the mechanics you’ll encounter during gameplay. From resource management and shrine energy to chaos buildup and demon invasions, we’ll provide an in-depth look at how each system contributes to the overall gameplay experience.
Building Stage
The building stage is a key part of the game where you focus on constructing your settlement, strengthening your economy, supporting shrine energy, and preparing to face enemies by setting up defenses.
Your economy plays a vital role in securing victory. You'll need to gather resources to sustain shrine energy, generate currency, and earn combat points to purchase new buildings and combat cards.
Resource Balancing
While gathering and spending resources, it's crucial to maintain a balanced distribution. If one resource becomes overly abundant or another starts running out, the balance will gradually shift—from green to yellow, and eventually to the red zone. The worse the zone, the more debuffs and negative effects you'll encounter.
Therefore, it’s not just about collecting resources but also about maintaining a stable balance among them.
Shrine Energy
The shrine is the heart of your settlement. Located at the center of the map, losing the shrine means losing the game. Additionally, the shrine relies on energy, which must be sustained by sacrificing harvested resources. If the shrine runs out of energy, the game is over.
The main challenge lies in resource management. You'll need to carefully decide which resources to sacrifice to keep the shrine energized while maintaining balance across all resources and adapting to its needs during the building stage.
Demons' Invasion
Chaos Bar
Among all the resources, there is the chaos bar. The chaos bar gradually fills based on the buildings you construct, the choices you make in dialogues, and most importantly, the resource balance zone you maintain.
Once enough chaos has accumulated, you’ll have the option to trigger a demon invasion or delay it until you’re better prepared. However, if chaos reaches 100%, the demons will invade your realm automatically.
You’ll need to survive the waves of enemies or complete the story quest to emerge victorious.
Enemy Waves
When a wave begins, demons will spawn from portals, and your survival will depend on how well-prepared your defenses are.
There are various tools and strategies to fend off enemies. You can focus on building defensive structures like catapults, towers, or ballistas, or you can develop strategies around collecting combat points to purchase powerful cards like "Meteor Strike," "Magic Shield," or "Wrath of the Skies."
After the Battle
After defeating a wave, the map will expand, unlocking new areas that may contain additional resources or quest-related items. The chaos bar will reset, and the building stage will resume, allowing you to prepare for the next wave of challenges.
