"Wait, shouldn't this be version 0.2.4?" Yes and no. (more yes than no). I'll explain everything at the end of this post if you're interested. But first...
I worked like crazy to bring this new addition to the game as quickly as possible and with as few issues as possible...
NEW BOSS
Don't expect too much complexity in its mechanics, but I guarantee it will be more engaging than the only mini-boss that has been available until now. With a bigger variety, my intention of making the gameplay more random is coming to life. Instead of always facing the same boss, you might encounter a different one. That sense of not having control over certain aspects of the game is what fascinates me the most in this genre, and executing it in a fun way is my biggest goal. From concept to execution, the mechanics of this boss took me about 2 weeks, requiring more time for full implementation.
The next planned content will be: Hardcore Difficulty (if you thought it was hard already, get ready) and a new mini-boss. I’m not sure about the order of implementation, but this will definitely be my next focus.
Now for the explanation:
Since this is my first project, I don’t have much experience or knowledge about how to properly catalog the game's versions, so I opted for a simpler format to understand. Smaller updates will increase the version by 0.0.1, while significant changes will jump by 0.1.0 (hence the leap to 0.3.0). Since this is a “new” version, I decided to register it as 0.3.0 instead of 0.2.4, as I believe the changes warrant a version jump.
All past and future updates serve both for me (as the developer) and for players or future players, allowing them to follow the game's development progress in detail if they're interested. Honestly, it helps me a lot to stay focused. My plan is to bump the version by 0.1.0 whenever something significant is added, such as additional content or a new game mode. The goal is to follow this pattern until I reach the long-awaited version 1.0.0 (the official release), where I’ll have successfully completed the game and made it as polished as possible.
Note: I’ll be taking a week off after these intense weeks to return at full strength, but any urgent bug or glitch fixes will still be implemented if needed.
