addedFirst things first, WE WILL BE WIPING SAVED DATA WITH THIS PATCH . We do not do this lightly and were trying to avoid this but we think its best for a lot of reasons. The early game is getting a massive overhaul on how you unlock units, warriors, and things like towers. Instead of unlocking units or warriors with gold they are now unlocked via achievements. In our previous versions it would take 10+ hours of gameplay to fully unlock all the units. This process has been streamlined down to a few hours max now. When you clear the 6 maps on their base difficulty you will have unlocked the full unit roster now. These system rewrites have made it very difficult for some save files to transition to the new patch without lots of bugs and errors.
addedThe second reason for the wipe is the new talent system. The Talent system has been set up in a way that when you clear a map for the first time you get +1 talent point. With how we set up this system it was also interacting poorly with our old saves. Players who had cleared most of the maps or partial clears were going to be forced to go back and individually clear maps they already cleared to reclaim those talent points. As with the above system changes this was also leading to frustrating gameplay experiences with the new patch.
addedAddressing all the problems with save data and the current patch would have caused far too many delays. Add on the fact that we really want you guys to test out the new early game systems, a wipe seems like the best option for us. We aren't happy about this and will be doing everything we can to avoid save wipes in the future. The new early game is way smoother to get through now though, and we hope you won't find it as tedious as your first play through.
addedTalents - Clear a map for the first time and get +1 talent point with currently 36 talent points total in the game. These talents can be placed into Offensive, Defensive, or Utility trees. You are able to reset your talents at any time to try out multiple builds and styles. As we add more maps and difficulty levels the total amount of talent points in the game will increase over time.
changedEarly Game Overhaul - Unlocking Units is now done by clearing maps. You will unlock the first half of a faction by surviving 10 minutes on a map and the second half of the faction by clearing the map. By the time you have cleared all 6 base maps you will have access to the full 50 unit roster and a handful of warriors. Once map 6 has been cleared you will gain access to Artifacts and Difficulty scaling.
addedArtifact rework - Artifacts have gotten major changes in this patch. We have fully removed the generic artifacts that buff all units by a percentage. We have added faction based artifacts and warrior artifacts that drastically change how the warrior ability works. We have also reworked both the dwarf and elf warrior abilities so make sure the check them out!

As we are approaching the release of patch 0.4 we wanted to update you guys on what features and changes to expect in this patch. We are still about 2 weeks away from the patch dropping but you will be playing the patch this month! There are a few key things we wanted to go over with this patch as there are quite a few big changes to the game.

With that out of the way here is what to expect from this patch!

Patch will also feature a change to map sizes, +5 difficulty maps, and some unit balance changes.
