Botfestation changes
New Trailer Is Live!
We’ve just released a brand-new trailer for BOTS 4 DEFENSE, showcasing our biggest visual and gameplay improvements so far. Below is a quick breakdown of everything included in this update.
2D → 2.5D
Bots 4 Defense now runs in a dynamic 2.5D environment, while keeping the pixel-art identity intact. The new perspective improves depth, readability, and overall visual clarity during combat.
New Lighting System
The upgraded lighting pipeline adds:
directional shadows
bloom and emissive highlights
richer particles
improved atmosphere and visibility
These changes make the battlefield feel far more alive.
New Animations
Tower construction: Each tower now assembles through multi-step animations, making placement more responsive and satisfying.
Spawn & death: Players now fall from above as robots assemble around them (Iron-Man style). When defeated, robots explode and launch the pilot upward. On respawn, falling from the sky can damage nearby bugs.
Combat: Each robot attack is now individually animated for better feedback and impact.
Gameplay Improvements
redesigned dash system (enemies can no longer be pushed off the map)
clearer HP bars above towers
improved camera shake during key moments
fixed multiplayer issues (life counting, scoring, checkpoints)
early experiments with new game modes
