Board Game Society changes
Happy Spooky month everyone!
Here comes an update we've been DYING to get out, if you don't see it, please restart your Steam client, and it will prolly come up.
All the feedback you guys have sent us via forums, Discord, somehow via private emails and one via a brick through our window has been invaluable.
For some reason not even we here at Jetebra can understand, there is a constant stream of players playing our ancient demo. But no more! In celebration of the spookiest month of the entire year, we updated the demo with a smorgasbord of new content and bugfixes.
TL;DR
Demo v2 is out now
Events (2 added, more coming)
Ability Cards (foundational now, will get wild later)
Visual & UI glow-up
Movement overhaul for smoother play
Lots of crash & lobby fixes
Highlights
Events (new!)
One of the pillars of our game that sadly didnāt make it into the last version, was events. Big, game changing moments between rounds that can alter the game entirely! For now, only two exists, but more will come with time.
PS: Weāre working with the Discord to add an arachnophobia mode for one of them.
Ability Cards (new!)
A slight change from our original idea has also arrived! All players are now given Ability cards at the start of the game that can give powerful power-ups⦠which are pretty basic for the moment but will become dope with time, I promise.
Visual Overhaul
A general facelift across the board. UI, effects, and readability has been our main focus. Itās starting to look pretty dang good.
Movement Overhaul
We got a lot of feedback on the movement system and its clunkiness to use, so weāve done a giant rehaul to hopefully make moving and choosing paths way more intuitive.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
Fixed a nasty crash during encounters (it shouldnāt happen anymore⦠hopefully).
Joining/hosting no longer sends you to multiplayer limbo where you have to restart to play again.
And an insane amount of other tweaks, networking fixes and other stuff that we in all honesty have forgotten a lot about lmao.
From the Team
Weāre a tiny crew, and sometimes āweā is basically one exhausted programmer juggling networking, gameplay, animations, balance, and everything in between. Sometimes we get stuck in a loop of trying to fix bugs that are much bigger than we thought. We are sorry for the long wait time with these sorts of updates as you guys seem to love the game and there is nothing we want more than to make sure you have the absolute best experience we can offer. We have worked tirelessly and are continuing to work to make sure as much as the bugs you have encountered gets fixed, and to make the final version feel like an actual board game come alive.
How You Can Help
Wishlist on Steam, it helps a ton.
Join the Discord to vote on features (like arachnophobia mode) and drop feedback.
Report bugs in the Steam forums or our #bugs channel on discord, to be able to get your logs help us fix things faster.
If thereās anything you want to tell us, donāt hesitate. Love ā Jetebra Games š¤
