BIG LOOT changes
Hi, dear BIG LOOTERS!
After the last update I took a short two-week holiday break in January and I'm already back to developing BIG LOOT. I didn't drop the game, I just needed a little rest :D
What's new in 0.5.0?
Before I start creating BIG content patches, I wanted to fix some old issues and improve a few things based on your feedback (as always). Here's what changed:
Technical Improvements
Reworked save system + Steam Cloud Save. Your progress can now sync across devices. Important: please log in on your original device first and load your save slot, as the system needs to migrate your save to the new format.
Improved UI scaling. The interface now works correctly across all aspect ratios, including ultrawide and 16:10 screens.
Gamepad support. Full gamepad input support with button icons in the UI. This is my first time implementing gamepad controls, so please test it and let me know if anything feels off!
Reworked Settings menu. Includes many highly-requested features: window mode switching, key rebinding (keyboard & gamepad), and advanced graphics settings.
Performance improvements. Physics optimizations combined with the new graphics settings should noticeably improve your experience.
Various small UI bug fixes
Quality of Life
When crafting items near your wagon, its inventory will be included automatically
Max level increased from 50 to 55
New perk branch: Logistics. 5 new perks focused on inventory management:
Perks 1–3: Increase your backpack inventory slots
Perk 4: Items from all your storages are included when building your house
Perk 5: Access your wagon's inventory from anywhere in a city
While the list might not look massive, this update represents a significant amount of technical work under the hood. I hope there are no critical bugs, but if you find something please don't hesitate to report it on Discord. Thank you in advance! :)
What's Next?
0.6.0
The next update will be content-focused. The game already has a wide variety of food items, but I want to make them more useful. Here's what to expect:
Cooking system
Horse upgrades via feeding (spoiler: increases your caravan inventory capacity)
New biome: "Forbidden Farm" filled with food items
A lot of new items
Aiming to deliver 0.6.0 in April/May.
0.7.0 - Full Release
It's time to start talking about BIG LOOT leaving Early Access! I will share more details in the next patch notes and on Discord, but here's a sneak peek:
4 new biomes with different weather conditions
- BIG content expansion100+ new items, 2 new rarity types, new ores, plants, perks, traders, crafting recipes, new areas to explore
Total wealth counter and player leaderboard
Buy and upgrade your own store to list your items for sale
Visual improvements
