BIG LOOT changes
Hi, dear BIG LOOTERS!
I’m glad I managed to deliver one more really important and BIG patch before the end of the year. I’ve fixed, improved, and balanced a lot of things.
Based on your feedback, I’ve polished the early game experience and rebalanced a lot of things. This update adds higher durability to almost all items, a reworked thirst and hunger system, smaller biomes for the first adventure levels, new small towns with unique activities, and many other improvements described below.
UI improvements
New Adventure Picker window
Redesigned adventure cards. From now on you can find the following information there:
Exclusive items for that location
Road length to the next city
Amount of ores
Amount of plants
Amount of enemies
Amount of food
Elite enemy spawn chance
Loot rating
Required armor level
Required road pass
Adventure results window and city summary
After each successful adventure you will see the adventure results window and a city summary.
On the results panel you will see your:
Total loot value
Profit compared to the state before the adventure
Survival streak
Additional XP (based on your survival streak)
The city summary shows all activities available in the city (number of traders, presence of a blacksmith, bank storage, and more).
Other UI improvements
New discovered item notification now has the color of its rarity
Added a notification icon on the skills button if you have available skill points
Repair window now shows a label if there are no available items to repair
Available caravan modules for repairing now appear in the repair window even if they are currently equipped
Content
New small versions of biomes
Added twice as small versions of Orange Forest and Windy Hills. Information about biome size can be found on the adventure card. BIG versions, compared to the small ones, have their own exclusive items. For example, you can find iron ore only in BIG biomes.
Blacksmiths
Blacksmiths can be found in small cities with a 50% chance and are not available in BIG cities. All of them take gold coins for their work. In this patch there are two types of blacksmiths: one works with armor, tools, and weapons, and the other works with caravan modules.
New small cities
For now, I’ve added 3 different small cities. Activities in small cities can vary.
In small cities you can find:
Random number of traders (3-5)
Blacksmith or caravan blacksmith (50% chance for each)
Bank storage (100% chance)
Trading company (100% chance)
In BIG cities you can find with 100% chance:
6 traders
Bank storage
Trading company
House area
BIG balance changes
Increased durability for almost all items by ~30–200%
Increased durability for all stone and iron tools
Increased durability for leather, iron, and bear armor sets
Increased durability for all weapons
Increased durability for all caravan modules
Reworked thirst and hunger
Slowed thirst drop rate by 72%
Slowed hunger drop rate by 50%
Replaced old max level perks (where hunger/thirst did not change while sitting on a wagon) with new perks that increase the max level of the indicators by 25 points
Thirst and hunger are no longer dropping while you’re not moving (standing somewhere or sitting on the cart)
Other changes
Increased minimal caravan speed (1 -> 3), so your caravan modules will last even longer
Simplified trading company orders for the first 1000 coins in total trades
Changed minimum adventure level for BIG biomes (1 -> 3)
Reduced max danger level for the first adventure level (2 -> 1)
Simplified crafting recipes for the full leather armor set
All campfire points of interest now contain only food items
Increased elite orange bear spawn chance (7% -> 30%)
Iron ore can now be found only in BIG biomes
What’s next?
Without any further ado, here’s a quick roadmap for the near future:
- 0.5.0Technical patch. New save system, gamepad support, widescreen support, new settings options, performance improvements
- 0.6.0Cooking system, brand new biome - Abandoned Farm, lots of new items, and more

It was a tough year. Those who have been following BIG LOOT already know that I'm a solo developer and I’m still looking for a job.
