BIG LOOT changes
The game market is tough and I just got some bad news: I’ve been laid off. I don’t know how long it will take to find a new job, so I want to use this time to focus on making my dream come true. Over the next two months, I’ll be working hard on BIG LOOT to deliver as much content as possible for Early Access.
I already know what hard work feels like - for months I’ve been working 12 hours a day (8 hours at my main job and 4 hours on BIG LOOT). Now I’ll have even more time for the game! 😄
I originally planned to release my game in Early Access later this year (around Q4), but things have changed a bit. Now, I’m aiming to launch Early Access in August!
Here’s what you can expect in Early Access compared to the demo:
A full perk system
The ability to manage your own trade company (accepting trade orders, buying items to unlock new locations)
New ways to stay hydrated (I know a lot of you were waiting for this one 😄)
New items, plants, biomes, enemies (both common and elite), adventure levels, and more!
Unfortunately, I know that BIG LOOT won’t give me the kind of long-term freedom that massive games like Rust or Stardew Valley gave their creators. Survival games are especially tough to make - even more so for a solo dev. But I couldn’t choose any other genre. I love this one. BIG LOOT is my dream project.
I truly believe that a small community can make a BIG difference. I hope that launching Early Access in August and selling some copies will give me at least 2-3 months of extra time before I find a new job. I’m a BIG dreamer… but sadly, dreams don’t pay for rent or food 😅
BIG thanks to everyone who tested the game during the playtests, played the demo, wishlisted, or even told friends about BIG LOOT. It means the world to me! I’ll keep working on my dream - no matter what!
