New Features

  • New Main Menu: Now featuring a live feed from random systems—immerse yourself in the universe before you even start playing.

  • New Game Logo: A fresh coat of paint to match the evolving world of beyond.frontiers.

  • Shield Batteries & Armor NanobotsAvailable at Shipyards and Equipment Docks, these consumables allow for mid-flight repairs and shield charging—at the cost of inventory space. Plan accordingly! (Hotkeys are 2 and 3 on your Keyboard)
  • NPCs now pilot the new ships: You’re no longer the only one getting an upgrade—expect to see more variety in enemy and ally fleets.

  • Search and Destroy Missions now extend the timer: Each NPC kill now adds more time, preventing frustrating mission failures due to efficiency (or being overleveled).

  • Swarm Missiles introduced: The BeeSwarm Missile replaces the old Needle—because more explosions are always better.

  • New Consumable – Subspace Shatterer Tier 1: A rare drop that allows players to enter the Echo Nexus, an unstable region beyond known space. Expect high risks—and high rewards.

Changes & Balancing

  • Removed System Info from Savegame Loading: Less clutter, faster load times.

  • Cleared out unused assets: Optimizations continue.

  • TITAN’s missing voice lines added: He’s finally speaking again.

  • Tweaked Mission Ship Composition: Expect slightly different enemy/friendly layouts.

  • Fighters can now carry turrets (where applicable): Giving small ships a bit more bite.

  • Improved NPC AI: - Ships no longer crash into each other (most of the time). - NPCs also stop trying to befriend asteroids—turns out, space rocks don’t reciprocate. - Capital Ships should no longer spin their crew into a fine mist.

  • Loot Adjustments: - Miners & Traders now drop their resources upon destruction. No more wondering where all that ore disappeared to. - Dead Pirates may now drop smuggled goods. Will you profit or report them? - NPC Scrap Drop Rates Rebalanced: More fair, less spammy.

Fixes

  • Another attempt at fixing the Demo’s Level 15 Achievement bug.

  • Fixed a critical bug in Wanderer’s Veil progression after following Burnard. - The cause? The story script file was too large for the engine. We've had to split it into a separate code file, and this will soon be necessary for other parts of the game. Expect a major refactoring effort soon.

  • Fixed certain causes of Microstuttering

Looking Ahead

The Echo Nexus - a unique experience for players willing to bet their virtual lives for the chance to obtain some of the best gear in the game. The deeper you go, the greater the rewards… and the dangers. More details soon.

We might also be attending Revision 2025 in Saarbrücken - potentially showcasing a brand-new game! Of course, there will also be some beyond.frontiers freebies for those who drop by. Stay tuned! 🚀
