Time to make some connections in the cosmos! This update introduces a new face, a new dialogue system, and some much-needed balance adjustments. Let’s dive in!
New Features
Meet James P. Burnard – The Cosmic Wanderer: Your first contact with this mysterious traveler will set you on a path of intrigue.
- Embark on a QuestExperience a new dialogue system that lays the groundwork for more interactive storytelling.
Changes
- Explorer CaptainsCan now randomly reward you with a map to a new sector. The higher their tier, the better the odds.
Bounty Captains: Now raise your reputation with the faction of the sector they were hired in.
Payouts Adjusted Based on System Security: The riskier the sector, the higher the potential rewards—but also the greater the challenge.
- No More AI ArtCharacter portraits have been removed to make way for improved subtitles.
- Technical ChangeAll dialogue now runs through a new wordwrap system, making future translations much easier.
Fixes
- Job Rewards for NPC CaptainsAdjusted values to allow for a better return on investment.
- Docking IssuesFixed a bug when docking in sectors containing scrap fields. (No more unintended ship recycling.)
Item Stockpile Failsafe: Built a failsafe to prevent item stock from exceeding 10,000 or dropping below 0. (Because negative items aren’t a feature, yet.)
Looking Ahead
We're currently working on overhauling the game's logo and updating some graphical elements to give the game a fresh new look. Additionally, the next week will be fully dedicated to expanding Wanderer's Veil —expect more depth, more story, and more adventures coming soon!
