Hello, fellow Besmirchians!
It's been a hot minute since we've updated you on what's up with "Besmirch". There has been A LOT of development in the past month. And with less than a month (!) left till Early Access, we want to give you a little overview of what to expect!
Before I jump in and say what we're cooking, I'd like to mention that you should expect a post with a detailed roadmap in the upcoming weeks! Stay tuned for that :)
~ What to expect in Besmirch Early Access? ~
We've heard the feedback and came up with, hopefully, the most satisfying outcomes for players. Let's start with the most important updates.
First, we have added a map! Now, you'll be able to find your way around "Besmirch"without worrying about being lost!
Second, we've upgraded the cave system to make it more accessible. You'll encounter monsters, but they'll be more manageable.
Third, we have added a tutorial to help you figure out the starvation mechanic in "Besmirch"!
For content updates, here are some things that have been added:
New dungeons;
Improved guns and gun parts;
New furniture;
Tool upgrades at the blacksmith;
You can actually build the forge;
The building region has townhouses now that you can access;
Lots of interactables, all highlighted;
A mansion boss fight;
Winter farming tutorial;
Sacred Forest;
New merchant that appears after 3 dark days;
New plants for each season;
Swords;
...and seriously so much more!
An important thing to note is that we currently have about 6 in-game weeks of storyline! You can keep playing past that point, though.
New plants will spawn, there will be a theme change, and other crops will be plantable. For now, the second half of winter, spring, and summer will look a bit bare, but worry not! We're planning on having a couple of major content updates for Early Access, so it feels much fuller!
We will update you with that roadmap so you are aware of the pace of development :)
