Beneath the Quiet: Where It Ends changes
We’ve just pushed a major update to the demo, focused on making the experience more frightening, more responsive, and more polished overall. Here’s what’s new:
New Enemy (Complete Replacement)
We have fully replaced the enemy with a significantly more professional and intimidating version, featuring entirely new animations and sounds. The goal here was simple: stronger presence, clearer readability in motion, and a much more unsettling feel during encounters.
Player Movement Rework
Player movement has been reworked to feel smoother and more consistent in moment-to-moment gameplay, with improved overall flow and refined crouching. This should result in fewer awkward transitions and a more controlled, grounded feel, especially in tense situations.
Visual Improvements
A number of visual upgrades have been implemented, including:
More realistic light interaction on items and surfaces
Multiple texture reworks across the environment for improved consistency and quality
Visual improvements to the computer interface at the generator area for a cleaner, more readable UI
Clearer on-screen guidance for returning to the menu from any screen within the terminal
A refined new message notification in the terminal menu that is cleaner and less distracting, while still clearly indicating when something new is available
Gamma Slider (Accessibility / Visibility)
Based on community feedback, we added a gamma slider to help players who find the environment too dark due to monitor or display settings.
Full Localization System (UI + Environment)
Localization is no longer limited to interface prompts and readable text views. The demo now supports a system where in-world text textures also switch to the selected language, including papers, posters, and various other text-based environmental objects.
Supported languages in the demo:
English
German
Hungarian
We also fixed an important localization issue: if you change the language during gameplay, previously collected objectives and notes now correctly update to the newly selected language instead of remaining in the old one.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback. If you notice anything odd after the update, such as movement edge cases, localization mismatches, or brightness issues, please report it.
More updates soon.
