This will be our first development update covering recent progress on the game. We’ll continue sharing these as development moves forward and there’s enough to report.
For those unfamiliar with the structure of the game, Beneath the Quiet: Where It Ends is divided into a Prologue, Act 1, and Act 2. Here’s a quick status update on each one.
Prologue
The Prologue is now fully complete. This phase was focused on playtesting, bug fixing, and optimization. We went through the entire section multiple times to clean up edge cases, improve performance, and make sure everything works reliably from start to finish.
Act 1
Act 1 is nearing completion and currently sits at around 95%. Alongside ongoing testing and polishing, we implemented a LOD system to improve performance, especially in larger and more complex areas. Most of the story content for Act 1 is now in place, with only final polish and small adjustments left.
Act 2
Work on Act 2 is actively underway. The full map layout is finished and playable, and we are now focused on filling it with environments, interactions, and story elements. We have also started implementing an Act 2 specific mechanic. It plays a key role in how this part of the game unfolds, but we want to keep the details quiet for now.
Overall, progress has been steady. With the Prologue locked and Act 1 close to the finish line, more of our focus is shifting toward building out Act 2 and tying everything together.
