INCOMING TRANSMISSION — M.E.G. COMMAND

MAIN BRANCH — DEPLOYMENT AUTHORIZED
Status: 🟢 LIVE — STABLE FOR ALL AGENTS Agents, Field testing is complete. M.E.G. Command has officially cleared the rebuild for full deployment. Everything that was on the experimental branch is now live on the main branch — no opt-in required.

A massive rebuild like this can leave a few rough edges. If you encounter any bug, please use the in-game bug report tool (it's right there in the pause menu). Reports submitted that way come with all the technical data I need to diagnose the issue, which means most bugs get fixed within hours. Posting on Discord is great for discussion, but the in-game report is what actually gets things patched fast.
This is the biggest update Backrooms: Extractions has ever shipped. To everyone who jumped on the experimental branch, sent reports, called out difficulty spikes, and stuck with us through the rough patches — this release is yours. Hundreds of fixes shipped over the last weeks were driven directly by your reports. Here's what's now live for everyone.
REBUILD REPORT
Nearly every internal system has been torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. The old infrastructure had reached its limits — too many fatal malfunctions, too many compromised extractions. The new foundation is stable, modular, and ready to support every piece of content coming down the pipeline.
LAB STORAGE
A new LAB Storage system is live in both Classic and Endless. Deposit tools in your personal locker before heading out — if your squad wipes, your gear stays safe. Locker capacity scales with your agent rank.
ENDLESS PROTOCOL — UPDATED
Endless now lets agents select their starting difficulty tier. Command will equip you with a matching tool loadout before insertion. Go in light, or deploy fully geared — your call.
M.E.G. CHESTS — NOW IN CLASSIC
Classified supply caches are now part of Classic deployments. These don't contain tools — expect cash bundles and occasional relics exchangeable at HQ for cosmetic gear. A reward for agents who go off the beaten path.
THREAT ASSESSMENT — FULLY REWORKED
The entire difficulty system has been rebuilt from scratch for a smoother, longer progression curve. The scale now spans 50 threat levels:
🟢 Levels 1–20 → CLASSIC MODE (Nightmare = Tier 20)
🔴 Levels 21–50 → ENDLESS-ONLY — unclassified territory
For veterans who've maxed out everything: the real challenge starts now.
CONTROLLER SUPPORT
Full controller support is now live, paving the way for an upcoming Steam Deck deployment, with console clearance further down the line. If you play on controller (Deck or otherwise) and notice anything off, please report it.
SAVE DATA
Your records carry over cleanly into this version. If something goes sideways for any reason, Command will make it right with credits, relics, or other bonuses — report any save issue the same way as a bug.
YOUR MISSION CONTINUES
The rebuild is live, but the work isn't over. As we keep shipping content on this new foundation, your reports remain the single most valuable thing keeping the game sharp. 🐛 BUG REPORTS — The in-field reporting system has been massively upgraded.
