Ground Zero 0.0.1: Countdown to Alpha

Big milestone ahead for us — Autonomica is taking its very first steps into Alpha. After months of building systems, connecting them together, and testing how they play, November 19, we will release our first Alpha build to our Kickstarter backers.

We call this release Ground Zero: 0.0.1, and while it will be rough around the edges, it marks the start of the journey where players finally get to step into the world with us.

This first Alpha will be focused on core systems like farming, construction, automation, weather, and exploration. It’s the foundation we’ll keep expanding on, and every update after this will bring more life into the world. You can learn more about it on our website here.

We’ve purchased a license for Wwise, The industry leading audio middleware that brings interactive sound within games to a whole new level. This will add a whole new dimension to our already rich world.

Our new audio engineer is hard at work implementing systems that will make your experience truly feel immersive and alive.

We’re building dynamic soundtracks that are designed to change with the world around you. The weather will affect sound differently. In fog, sounds become softer; rain will add richer reverb to every step and action, and trees will rustle or roar depending on the wind and the movement of their leaves. Every sound will respond to the world… and to the actions you take.

It’s pretty, pretty cool.
