Atomic Picnic changes
One year of Early Access, and this one’s been a long time coming. The Bow and Arrow has landed!
Our first charged weapon opens up a whole new way to fight: precise, powerful, and highly satisfying to master.
Alongside it, we’ve polished visuals across every map and simplified a few Curios to make their effects clearer and punchier.
What’s New
NEW WEAPON: Bow and Arrow
Weapon Mods
Scatter Arrow – Charge to fire a volley of arrows that bounce up to three times around the environment.
Perfect Release: hit the timing window to shoot five perfect arrows.
Explosive Arrow – Charge to unleash an explosive projectile with greater damage, radius the longer you hold.
Perfect Release: hit the timing window for a massive bonus to damage and explosion size.
New Ambience Sounds
Added new soundscapes for Train Plateau and Night Plateau.
Visual Improvements
Softer shadows across all scenes.
Added decals for grass, moisture, and litter.
New grass meshes and minor art touch-ups.
Updated icons for Pebbles and Cores.
New models and VFX for microbuffs.
Optimized models for water tanks in Train Plateau and Twilight Dam.
New map icons in the Discoveries screen.
Curios icons now scale better to their UI slots.
Improved reflection rendering for a more natural look.
Changes
Berserk Brew
Now fully streamlined:
When you take damage, you gain the Berserk buff, increasing speed and damage.
Defeat enemies to extend its duration.
Liquid Decoy
Defeating an enemy has a chance to spawn a Decoy that taunts enemies.
Snowbro
Defeating an enemy has a chance to spawn a Snowbro. When it explodes, it applies stacks of Chill.
Fixes
Fixed Takachan’s music being muted.
Fixed long descriptions displaying incorrectly on the Tab screen.
Fixed Launcher not dealing damage.
Fixed clients playing outdated explosion effects.
Known Issues
When joining another camp, if another player has fired the Bow and Arrow, the charge SFX may replay as many times as it was used before joining.
Some polishes and minor bugs can appear; send us feedback on Discord.
Atomic Team Commentary
Since we started Atomic Picnic, our community has been asking for The Bow and Arrow, which began as a small prototype on the side. Once we felt the charge timing click, it was obvious it needed to become a full weapon. The goal was simple: give back a new playstyle and a gift for all the help you've all given us since the beginning.
Scatter Arrow and Explosive Arrow came from the same mindset. One pushes room control, the other tests your nerve under pressure. Both are meant to expand how players approach fights without turning the Bow into a free damage button.
On the visual side, this update is part of a larger effort we've been quietly working on for months: improving clarity, readability, and the overall atmosphere without changing the game's identity. Small polish steps add up.
Thanks for sticking with us! This weapon has been a long time in the making, and we’re excited to finally get it into your hands.

See you in The Zone.
