Atomic Picnic changes
We know what you've been telling us. Two years of "more enemies would be nice." We heard it the first time. We just wanted to make sure they were worth meeting before we let them in.
So: Twilight Dam, City of Sands, and Diamantina got new neighbors. Twelve of them. None of them RSVP'd.
TWILIGHT DAM
Four new arrivals. Nobody invited them, nobody's getting them to leave.
Flying Charger
Mortar
Teleporter
Volcano
CITY OF SANDS & DIAMANTINA
Six more. The Zone wasn't crowded enough, apparently.
Slime
Digger
Bomb Dropper
Slow Gunner
Diver
Mini Flamethrower
ELITES
Two new elites. Same rule as always: bigger threat, better drop. Digger Elite
Brawler Elite
CHANGES
Vacuum enemies now have SFX. Two updates of silent judgment, finally audible.
Removed the gap between objective steps. Cores ends, Rover starts. Pillar drops, the Miniboss is already inbound. The Zone doesn't pause for you to catch your breath, so we stopped pretending it would.
STEAM SUMMER SALE
Summer is here, and with the new monsters in the Zone, Atomic will be on sale from June 25 to Jul 9!
A Word from The Team
First, a word on the gap we just removed: we know some of you wanted more room to breathe between fights, not less. We've been listening. This update first solves a different problem: twelve new reasons to never feel safe standing still. Pacing is the next conversation, and it's already started internally. Tell us how this lands, and we'll keep adjusting from there.
Twelve enemies added to three maps, one Picnic that's a lot less peaceful than it used to be. This was the first pass. More are coming; the road to 1.0 is as soon as you guys expected.
See you in the Zone, The Atomic Picnic Team
