Now that the Early Access version of ASCENDANTS Rising has been released, we have planned a steady stream of updates for the game.
Our current plan is to alternate between updates, which will bring new content, and patches, which will focus on bug fixes.
This week will feature our first Early Access patch; we will provide a full changelog tomorrow. As we develop the new features, we will also try to share some previews as often as possible.
Please note that dates are subject to change based on feedback from players and bug fixing.
Here is the roadmap for the following 3 Updates.
Update 1 (July 8):
New Boss! - The Heralds
The Heralds join the battle!
In these fights, you will be facing three different Heralds at the same time.
Heralds come in five different flavors: Waves, Toxins, Storms, Corals, and Ice.
The first three Heralds available to fight will be the Heralds of Waves, Toxins, and Storms.
Every time you defeat a Herald, the remaining Heralds are fully healed and empowered with new abilities.
New Feature! - Group Finder
The group finder is a new feature that will allow you to search for players or groups to join.
Whenever you select a game, if your group is incomplete or you are alone, the game will offer you the possibility to list yourself on the group finder.
This will allow you to join another group or invite people to your group.
Update 2 (July 22):
New Boss! - Hydra
The Hydras come from below to end your existence.
You face two unique Hydra heads at once, but two new ones will pop out for every head you cut off. You will need to persevere until this Boss cannot generate new heads.
New Feature! - Extend Info Screen
With this feature, by holding TAB during a mission, you will be able to open two windows with additional information.
On the left, you will be able to read the current Boss's abilities and mechanics. On the right, you will be able to see a description of your abilities.
New Artefact! - Soul Drain Catalyst
The Soul Drain Catalyst is the perfect Artefact for those that know how to master the flow of a Boss battle.
Soul Drain is a channeled ability that increases the damage it deals and mana it generates the longer you have it active.
The signature ability, Giga Drain, allows you to cast a more powerful version of the ability for 2 seconds. Managing to hold it for the entire duration will yield incredible amounts of damage and mana.
Update 3 (August 5):
New Feature! - Group Chat
This feature will allow you to chat with your teammates and coordinate a flawless victory or, of course, blame the hunter for pulling an extra pack of mobs.
New Boss! - The Maw
The Maw is a fleshy abomination with a massive appetite, and it's on the hunt for its next meal. We have the pleasure of letting you know you have been personally selected for its dinner.
While the Maw cannot move, it will unleash an onslaught of abilities against you, which continuously speed up.
The good news is that you can slow down its frenzy by feeding it; the bad news is that the only food available is you.
An extra action button will allow you to jump in the Maw to appease its frenzy. Luckily for you, after years of gorging, its jaw is too bloated to close, presenting you with a convenient escape route once you are done pretending to be an appetizer.
New Ability Set! - The Alchemist Set
A new set of abilities themed around a Steampunk Asian Alchemist.
To make the most out of these new abilities, you will have to combine different spells to trigger powerful additional effects.
This set of abilities will reward players that like to plan and scheme their next move.
More Boss sets
Any update will potentially come with new Boss sets. However, Boss sets are not part of the roadmap, as their exact release date is too volatile.
What are Boss sets?
In the end, each Boss will have five possible variations. Their core behavior is the same. However, the ability they will use is going to be different.
These Boss variations will also slightly alter their appearances.
The 4-Pack
We will also create a new 4-Pack in the store, allowing you to purchase four copies of the game with a 40% price discount.
A big thank you to everyone who supports us while we develop ASCENDANTS Rising in Early Access.
See you in the Multiverse!
