Patch Notes

Areteion v1.0.11

Features

  • The demo now lets you earn cards through normal play, up to a 20-card collection limit; further unlocks (including new Olympians) require the full game. Your demo card collection carries over automatically if you get the full game on the same Steam account.

  • While "Offer to the Olympians" is active, hovering a card on the board or in your hand now highlights it and shows a tooltip previewing exactly how much Favor offering it would grant.

  • Background music now automatically dips in volume while the narrator is speaking (e.g. for unique cards or encounters), so the commentary is easier to hear. This can be turned off in Settings → Audio → Narrator Introduction.

Bug Fixes

  • Orthrus, Two-Headed Hound now blocks half of its adjacent tiles (rounded up) instead of always two, so placing it in a corner no longer permanently blocks both of its only neighboring tiles.

  • Fixed sliders in the Settings menu not letting you drag the handle (only clicking on the bar worked).

  • Fixed Dolos, Spirit of Trickery briefly flashing a "Cost set to 0" popup on all hand cards before correctly transforming them with cost 1.

  • Fixed the Olympian favor tooltip claiming a click would show possible blessings/curses, which no longer did anything of the sort; it now explains that more favor means stronger blessings and milder curses.

  • Clarified the Help overlay's Divine Favor section on exactly when higher-severity blessings and curses unlock, and how much favor protects you from the worst curses at rounds 10 and 12 (the final round).

  • Fixed the history panel occasionally showing a mulligan "Card Drawn" entry out of order relative to the "Turn 1 Starts" divider.

  • Fixed Boundary Walker sometimes failing to gain influence over an adjacent tile at end of turn when that tile was already claimed by an enemy.

  • Fixed Midas, the Cursed King and Midas' Touch failing to transform sea-based cards into Gold.

  • Fixed Searching for Love sometimes failing to place a character and not drawing a card, which happened when it randomly targeted an adjacent Sea tile; it now only targets adjacent land tiles, and its text has been clarified to say so.

Dev Update

For the month of August I'm planning to mostly work on AI improvements, finding progress there, but unclear when I can ship that. Also maybe a slight rework to the Olympians blessings and curses system.
