This week had a lot of balance updates:
- Cast durations were lowered for the next spellsSnow storm by 20% Ice arrow by 30% Ligthning bolt by 20% Fireball by 40% Fire arrow by 20% Meteor by 40% + faster fall speed by 50% Lightning storm by 40% Barrier by 60% + added longer cooldown
Tests showed that gameplay on current cast times is somewhat slow and some spells have unjustifyingly long cast time in relation to usability and power. Current changes are not final and demand further testing. We hope for your help and comments.
Ice, fire and lightning charges now don't apply frostbite, burn and shock effects correspondingly. Tests showed that because of these statuses stacking, charges start to become more and more universal in battle than regular spells, despite them being support spells. Although spamming charges now does not lead to damage increase, you can still pump up the damage by using debuffs and other curses.
Lightning charges damage was decreased. Lightning charges were much more convenient to use because they deal instant damage without needing to fly to target as in opposition to fire and ice charges. Lower damage should compensate for that.
Burn, frostbite and shock debuff spells now increase their power with upgrades. It can help to increase damage output to a specific target by applying lowlevel effects while waiting for cooldown of a compat spell. Or you can prepare a target with highlevel effect before you attack.
Ability to hold projectile spell in hand before releasing it was extracted to separate perk. It has 5 levels and each level will decrease concentration consumption when holding a spell.
Stasis-field spell now works as a trap instead of a curse. Stasis-field was almost impossible to avoid if caster was already locked onto a target, that is why we decided to make it a bit more difficult. Now it creates a trap on any surface which when triggered will put a target in stasis.
