fixedHere is what's new and fixed in today's update:
changedThe "Voided Stat" Crit Bug is Squashed! We found an issue in the effect resolver where CRIT_CHANCE and CRIT_MULT buffs weren't being parsed correctly by the engine. This was causing these stats to act like "voided stats" during combat. This parsing logic has been completely rebuilt. Cards like Money Shot, Scope, and Rangefinder will now accurately apply their Crit Chance and Crit Multiplier buffs exactly as intended.
fixedAttack/Buff Sequencing Fixed:
changedPreviously, cards that dealt damage and applied a crit buff (like Money Shot) were rolling their damage before the buff was applied to your character. We've reordered the effect execution sequence. The engine now correctly applies your buffs first, meaning the initial hit on Turn 1 will immediately benefit from your newly increased Critical Chance!
changed✨ Mechanics Updates: Critical Heals!
addedFlat Heals Can Now Crit with the Crit Buffs! Standard flat healing abilities now roll against your Critical Chance. If you land a crit, your heal will be multiplied by your current Critical Multiplier stat. (Note: Percentage-based max HP heals do not crit to maintain balance).

First off, a huge thank you to the community for your detailed bug reports. Many of you noticed that certain stat-boosting cards weren't quite packing the punch they were supposed to. We've spent the last few days digging into the combat engine, and we're excited to bring you Patch 1.2.3, which completely overhauls and fixes the Critical Hit mechanics!

Here is what's new and fixed in today's update:

🐛 Bug Fixes

The "Voided Stat" Crit Bug is Squashed!

Attack/Buff Sequencing Fixed:

Previously, cards that dealt damage and applied a crit buff (like Money Shot) were rolling their damage before the buff was applied to your character. We've reordered the effect execution sequence. The engine now correctly applies your buffs first, meaning the initial hit on Turn 1 will immediately benefit from your newly increased Critical Chance!

✨ Mechanics Updates: Critical Heals!

While we were under the hood fixing the critical hit logic, we decided to apply these hotfixes to your medical tech as well!

Flat Heals Can Now Crit with the Crit Buffs! Standard flat healing abilities now roll against your Critical Chance. If you land a crit, your heal will be multiplied by your current Critical Multiplier stat. (Note: Percentage-based max HP heals do not crit to maintain balance).

Heal-over-Time (HoT) Crits: We've introduced a new canCrit flag to the engine for HoT effects. Flat Healing-over-Time statuses will now independently roll for a critical heal on a per-tick basis which works with the Crit Buffs in the hotfix!

We hope these fixes make your builds feel much more consistent and powerful. Keep the feedback coming, and best of luck in the grid!
