Hold onto your tails, we’ve got a new update for Animalkind! This one focuses on tackling a handful of issues reported by the community (thank you!), as well as some issues we turned up in our own testing.

changedFirst pass on performance improvements! The game should run better now but there is more to come soon!
fixedWe’ve addressed an issue where players could claim multiple residences in the wilderness.
changedWe’ve relocated where the player spawns when they travel between islands (you now spawn near the portal).
changedAdjusted some controller mappings (hooray, improved controller UX!). For example, the meal sharing UI now responds to the B button!
fixedAddressed an errant phrase in a loading screen that described the home island as a tutorial island… it is way more than that!

  • We’ve addressed an issue where players could claim multiple residences in the wilderness.

  • We’ve relocated where the player spawns when they travel between islands (you now spawn near the portal).

  • Adjusted some controller mappings (hooray, improved controller UX!). For example, the meal sharing UI now responds to the B button!

  • Addressed an errant phrase in a loading screen that described the home island as a tutorial island… it is way more than that!

  • Addressed an issue where you could zoomie while sitting.

  • Addressed a dialog option that mistakenly referenced hardwood.

  • Addressed issues with the rotation of certain objects when you picked them up.

  • Addressed issues with the dig sites where your animal would look at them or the wrong animations would trigger.

  • Changed decoration mode so that picking up items will not reset rotation.

  • Addressed the animal looking in odd directions while in the mech.

  • Changed how dropping works while in the mech so that you can drop codices at any distance.

  • Added “Escape to exit” while fishing.

  • The fishing modal can be skipped, allowing you to get back to fishing that much faster.

  • The mech now has a larger dust cloud after it jumps.

  • Addressed an issue where a player could be soft-locked by another player taking away the object they were sitting on.

  • Added sound effects to when a codex is broken apart.

  • Added proper swaying and falling to trees with codex fragments.

  • Addressed an issue where NPCs would clip through certain floors.
