addedFinished all Stormbarrow Chapter 2 cutscenes A lean amount of cutscenes with heavy emphasis on revelations and satisfying pace! Lots of concepts had to be introduced quickly without overwhelming the player.
addedAdded phone calls In Stormbarrow, you can find a smartphone and call any 4 digit number you see in the world. I made all the possible phone calls. :)
addedFinished chapter 2 NPCs Added all changing NPC dialogue... and try item speeches (you can show any NPC any item and they react!)
addedNew Music again! As I was finishing writing the story this week, brother B busted out more music, and we got 4 new tracks for our upcoming demo. They're simply amazing.

It's finally finished! Stormbarrow chapter 2 has been completed, play tested and polished. We're proud to have finished this chapter in 2 months, considering how crazy things got at our household. Personally, I feel like this chapter is one of our best - and I can't wait for you guys to discover the hidden things within it!

We finished all the cutscenes fairly quick. We've gotten very efficient with our workflow, and cutscenes are never a bottleneck (they're also some of the least boring cutscenes you'll see in a 2.5D game). What took forever this week was the extra content, and writing all the changing NPC dialogue! But we did it. :)

Since brother B played it, I feel more confident with showing screenshots off (I know right now we're basically the only two reading these).

What's next you may wonder? Here on Sunday, I've already started work on our Ancients of Arkar demo. Work never stops in the Corren house. :)

Next week I can't wait to report more, but lets celebrate the fact Stormbarrow Chapter 2 is done. This is a huge step forward, and Ancients of Arkar gets ever closer to completion.

On to what we did this week:

  • Finished all Stormbarrow Chapter 2 cutscenes

    • A lean amount of cutscenes with heavy emphasis on revelations and satisfying pace! Lots of concepts had to be introduced quickly without overwhelming the player.

  • Added phone calls

    • In Stormbarrow, you can find a smartphone and call any 4 digit number you see in the world. I made all the possible phone calls. :)

  • Finished chapter 2 NPCs

  • Playtest + Polish

    • We took the time to playtest (a blind playthrough from brother B), and after playtesting, we made notes and polished what was missing! It's completely done now.

  • New Music again!

    • As I was finishing writing the story this week, brother B busted out more music, and we got 4 new tracks for our upcoming demo. They're simply amazing.
