Ancients of Arkar changes
Each time period chapter has its own set of unique items that come with it. These are all designed to work with each other for unique, powerful combinations. And sometimes, they're just key items. Considering Stormbarrow's gameplay feature is a combine feature (kind of like Resident Evil), we've been planning items around it.
All the puzzle items and battle items are now finished, and with it the gameplay in each dream. The Excesses (basically left behind monsters) have all been implemented, and now we're close to starting the cutscenes for this chapter.
Behind the scenes, things have been extremely turbulent at the Corren Bros household, so we're not exactly on schedule. Hopefully next week is a hybrid of all gameplay done, and cutscenes started.
See you next week for another update.
On to what we did this week:
Finished all items for Stormbarrow Chapter 2
A unique combination of items to 'Combine' or 'Dismantle' and find your way through the dream worlds.
Added 3 base items to mess around with that can create up to 6 more.
Added all the world discovering items. Up to 8 dream worlds are yours to find!
Finished item sprites
Each item gets its own cool little sprite to represent it in the world. Now they're done. :)
Finished level gameplay
Each dream world has its gameplay complete, along with the puzzles and actual navigation. Also added triggers to spawn the Excess fights!
AoA General work: Animated portraits
We've started toying with the idea of adding in animated portraits for characters. It's looking good so far. :)
"A strange fragment taken from a dream world. It was once planned as a haven."
"A unique pocket watch formed by combining items. Its data can be read by an FPC Disc."
"A fragment from an unrealized world."
"An action figure that Gelidisk hid in his closet. Why is it so associated with regret?"
