addedHello, and welcome to the fourth dev diary for Anathyma. In this one I will be revealing three units from a new class of warfare.
addedAs teased in the previous diary, the time has come to add some horsepower to the roster. I'm talking about, of course, armored vehicles. Tanks, being far bulkier than foot soldiers, with high resistances to projectiles and frontal attacks in general, Tanks will prove to be the greatest threat to any defense, forcing players to invest in high-piercing Towers or Weapons.
changedThe Tank is a resilient frontline vehicle designed to absorb punishment while supporting advancing forces. It takes reduced damage from all attacks coming from the front, combined with the capacity to deflect projectiles that strike at shallow angles. These two traits give it a considerable resilience against hostile fire. This resilience is then combined with a forward machine gun and a rotating cannon turret, making the tank excel at leading assaults through contested territory.
changedThe Heavy Tank takes everything that makes the Tank effective and pushes it further. It boasts greater stats than the Tank across the board, except for movement speed, while also carrying the same features (frontal resistance, projectile deflection, frontal machine gun). In addition to its frontal machine gun, its cannon turret has a larger, more devastating caliber, and the Heavy Tank also carries a flamethrower for close-range infantry combat, and a second turret, armed with a machine gun, for even greater defensive flexibility. These additional weapons make the Heavy Tank one of the strongest units in a direct confrontation.
changedBut direct confrontations are not the only way to fight, and there's no greater example of this than the Self-Propelled Gun. It trades versatility for overwhelming long-range firepower. While it possesses armor comparable to a Heavy Tank and retains a frontal machine gun for self-defense, the remaining armaments have all been sacked to make room for a massive artillery cannon capable of devastating targets from afar, making it extremely dangerous to Towers. The weakness of the SPG is that it must come to a complete stop and raise its cannon before commencing an artillery barrage, though it is still far tougher to take down than a Sniper or a Machinegunner.
addedNext time will be the conclusion of the mechanical units reveal and the new units in general.

Tank
The Tank is a resilient frontline vehicle designed to absorb punishment while supporting advancing forces.
Heavy Tank
The Heavy Tank takes everything that makes the Tank effective and pushes it further.
Self-Propelled Gun
But direct confrontations are not the only way to fight, and there's no greater example of this than the Self-Propelled Gun.
