Always Bet on Quack changes
As we continue development on Always Bet on Quack, we wanted to share a bit about what we’ve already been doing behind the scenes and how this project has been growing alongside our work in game development education.
Members of our team teach game design courses, and Always Bet on Quack has become a fantastic teaching tool in the classroom. We’ve used parts of the game to help students learn real production skills, including:
Painting and customizing character costumes directly onto our duck models
Working with materials, textures, and iteration workflows
Understanding how cosmetic systems fit into a live game pipeline
Seeing students work with and learn from a real, in progress game has been one of the most rewarding parts of development so far.
To keep things transparent, we’ve been publishing regular progress reports outlining what we’ve built, what we’ve learned, and what’s coming next. You can read them here:
Spring Progress Report AlwaysBetonQuackProgressUpdateSpring2025.docx
Summer Progress Report AlwaysBetonQuackProgressUpdateSummer2025.docx
Fall / Winter Progress Report AlwaysBetonQuackProgressUpdateFallWinter2025.docx
These documents cover development milestones, classroom integration, and how the project has evolved over time.
