All Quiet Roads changes
Update v5.06 is now live. This update introduces new dwell-time behaviors for transit and a new traffic tracking metric.
☕ The "Coffee Break"
A mid-journey pause has been added for vehicles traveling long distances. In the interest of driver safety, vehicles routed through intermediate neighborhoods (neighborhoods that are not their final destination) will now pull over and take a well-deserved coffee break.
However, if parking is full drivers will skip their break. If a neighborhood starts turning red, expect them to power through rather than circle the block for a spot!
⏱️ Median Vehicle Time
A high-precision Median Vehicle Time metric is now tracked during gameplay. This measures the complete lifespan of vehicles, starting from when a vehicle appears on a source neighborhood until it reaches its destination.
Milestone Display: The current median time will appear on-screen for 10 seconds every time a 500-point score threshold is crossed.
On-Demand: The time can be viewed instantly at any point by hovering the mouse over the in-game score.
🌉 Minor Adjustments
Bridges: The visual assets for bridges have received a minor adjustment for a slightly cleaner look.
Under-the-hood optimizations to ensure the new background time-tracking runs without impacting frame rates.
