All Quiet Roads changes
v5.14: The Click to Place Update
All Quiet Roads v5.14 introduces a major overhaul to the inventory and item exchange systems, a brand-new control scheme for placing items, and a suite of under-the-hood stability improvements to ensure game saves are robust and reliable.
Controls & Interface Overhaul
Click-to-Place Interaction: Draggable items no longer require holding and dragging from the inventory. Items can now be selected with a single click in the menu and placed onto the map with a second click, drastically improving precision and ease of use.
Fresh Inventory Iconography: The entire inventory system features newly designed, high-fidelity vector icons for instant readability.
Redesigned Item Exchange: The item exchange menu has received a complete visual overhaul, making conversions cleaner and easier to read at a glance.
Bulk Action Polish: Bulk erasure of roads and bulk tow truck deployments have been visually cleaned up and now integrate beautifully into the inventory panel.
- Reward PresentationThe way rewards are presented to the player has been updated for better clarity and visual satisfaction.
- Pattern Mode Exchange ControlsNew [+] and [-] buttons have been added next to inventory items in Pattern mode, providing extra clarity when exchanging remaining turns for inventory.
Passive Inventory Demolition Migration: The traditional bulldozer tool has been replaced by a clean demolish icon situated alongside bridges and tunnels in the passive inventory. To demolish a neighborhood, simply pin its local panel and interact directly with its dedicated demolish button.
Critical Stability & Save System Fixes
Save Robustness: Hardened the interaction between autosaves and exit-saves. The game now handles transient save snapshot failures smoothly, preventing the "jump back in time" issue when restarting or loading a save.
- Error-Storm MitigationReduced repeated save/exit exception loops that could previously crush the framerate during game transitions.
- Menu ResponsivenessResolved an issue where finishing a level and returning to the main menu would cause buttons to stop working. Transition stability across menu paths is now fully secured.
A Little Extra Help With The Controls
During this time of so much changing in AQR, there are some things that are not yet clear. If you miss bulldozers and are wondering how to demolish a neighborhood, then the following information may help.
