A major topic these days is how we create the various assets that define our environmental storytelling, and in this devlog, we’re sharing some secrets!
It’s important for you to know that all the art you see in Alex & Arty is Human Made. Our super creative team of artists works hand-in-hand with game design and developers, living and breathing the story we want to share with you.
Inside the Development Process
In the previous devlog we were talking about the Hub, the Luther IV Complex.
How do we imagine that K-Foundry would have constructed the buildings?
We started considering a modular system so that we could build all the necessary buildings for the different maps, with similar bases but different modelling and textures.
This meant that they were all similar enough to be recognised as having been built by the same company, K-Foundry, while still meeting the specific requirements of each building. We designed two types of building: ones with a more 'free' shape, built to be distinctive and striking, and ones with a hexagonal shape. The latter were intended for research areas, and were designed to be understood as a quick and inexpensive way for K-Foundry to build in sets.

And now, the big question:
How will Alex clean up all the pollution found along the way? What can be used to neutralize it?
First things first: you need to gather everything required to power up your Ionizer. Once that’s done, you can start tackling the Crud. But heads up! Not all Crud behaves the same way, so you'll need to discover everything your Ionizer is capable of!
