addedIn the Azara Ice Field small chunks of destroyable ice have been added along the flight path around the main ring. These Ringlets have 100 hit points and award 1 score point. The destroyable ice can be discerned from the surrounding static environment by their continual rotation movement.
addedIn the Acclora Nebula, the Nerpaithian Expanse and the Ichor IV Asteroid small chunks of destroyable rock have been added. These Meteoroids have 300 hit points and award 1 score point. As with the Ice Ringlets they can be identified by their continual rotation movement.

  • Turret enemies added to both Velora missions.

  • If the player fights a boss but loses the strategic battle due to the boss causing immense damage to republic forces the game will now track this by classifying this outcome as ‘Boss Fought’ instead of ‘Boss Defeated’. These situations currently include the Train reaching the Republic Base on Torvannah, the Inceptor hitting the Republic Base on Illandor, the Missiles striking the Alastrius in the Acclora Nebula or the Missiles striking the Delta Station.

  • Bosses that have only been fought and not defeated will not be counted in the Defeated Bosses Screen.

  • Bosses that have only been fought but not defeated will no longer count towards the Victorious or Big Game Hunter achievements.

Environment Changes

  • The mountain valley in Velora has had a pass to visually improve it.

  • Portholes on the Battleship Alastrius, Naval Frigates, Naval Tankers, the Imperial Cruiser Boss and the Heavy Cruiser Boss decreased in size by 60%. This is to standardize these window sizes across the whole game making them conform to real-world scale, this has also had the added effect of making these ships feel much larger than in previous updates.

  • If the Battleship Alastrius suffers a missile hit in the Acclora Nebula the hull will be damaged and this damage will persist for the remainder of the campaign run.

  • Destructible trees in Illandor now have a slightly bluer shade so they no longer blend in completely with the surrounding snow.

  • On Torvannah if the player destroys the bridge after the Train Boss has already crossed it the bridge will collapse in-game.

Audio Changes

  • A new set of 19 sound files of stone materials being damaged and destroyed have been added to the game, these are currently being used for the destructible Meteoroids.

Cinematic Changes

  • In the Torvannah mission if the player detonates all the explosives planted on the bridge as the Train Boss is crossing the bridge an outro cinematic will play of the bridge collapsing.

  • In the Acclora Nebula mission if the player does not destroy all the Interstellar Missiles in time an outro cinematic will play of a missile striking the Battleship Alastrius.

  • In the Illandor mission if the player does not destroy the Interceptor Boss before it rams into the Republic Base an outro cinematic will play showing the collision.

  • In the Delta Station mission If the player does not destroy all the Interstellar Missiles in time an outro cinematic will play of a missile striking the station.

User Interface Changes

  • All boss icons in the game now have two types, a green ‘Defeated’ icon and a red ‘Fought’ icon. If the player is unable to defeat certain bosses before they cause damage to the Republic they will get the red version of the icon in the Campaign Summary Screen and Bosses Screen.

  • If the player fights a boss but does not fully defeat them the Mission Summary will state ‘Boss Fought’ rather than ‘Boss Defeated’.

  • The Campaign Summary column header ‘Boss Defeated’ now states ‘Boss Encountered’.

  • The 10 Star-Fighter icons have been changed from green to yellow to avoid confusion with the red and green boss icons.

  • Notes on the High Scores and Bosses Defeated Screens adjusted.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix for Interstellar missiles not impacting their targets properly.

  • In the Acclora Nebula and the Delta Station missions the Interstellar Missiles no longer cluster together and overlap each other as they converge on their target.

  • Defeating the Heavy Cruiser Boss on Avalantare no longer triggers the Restore the Republic Achievement.

Background Systems Changes

  • The Communications System is now able to display messages on screen during cinematics.

  • Versioning number added to the save system.

  • Unlocking logic added to all tally based achievements for Steam unlock once these achievements reach 100 completion.

Performance Optimization

  • All portholes, signage and engine emissions on the Battleship Alastrius are now set to not cast shadows and to have no collision.

Demo

  • Updated to Version 1.0.18 as well.
