A rabbi, a monk, and a bard walk into a cider house...

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve received many questions on X, Reddit, and via email, and we think now is the perfect time to answer them and show some of Rufina’s work.

  • Gameplay

addedThe game is being developed by two people, and we both live here. I learned about Asturias long before moving here. In Moscow, Asturian cider is quite popular, and there are several cider houses that introduced me to the region about ten years ago. Moreover, the traditional way of pouring Asturian cider is included in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list. What better reason to get to know the region?
changedYou mention that the game will have high replayability. What makes that possible? Yes, that’s right. At the end of each turn, you choose one of three locations to visit either to exorcise demons or uncover frauds. All locations are unique and do not repeat, and the demons themselves are also different each time. If you want to see all the content, you’ll need to play through the game multiple times. But that’s not the main point. As you progress, you’ll interpret events differently and draw your own conclusions about who is behind the “appearance of demons.” Depending on your decisions, the game can lead to very different endings, including a rather bleak one.
changedClosed beta testing will begin in July, the demo will be available during Next Fest in October, and we’re planning a release in November.

Why did Asturias become the setting of the game?

Asturias is located in the far north of Spain and is a very special place both historically and culturally. This is where the Reconquista began. At the same time, outside of Spain the region is not widely known.

The game is being developed by two people, and we both live here. I learned about Asturias long before moving here. When will the demo be available, and when is the release planned?

Like many indie developers, this is not our main job. We also both have two children, so in theory this could affect the timeline. So far, it hasn’t.

Closed beta testing will begin in July, the demo will be available during Next Fest in October, and we’re planning a release in November.
