Wreckborn changes
For now, this will be the last smaller update. I will still be making fixes if any issues are reported, but I am planning the next bigger update in a few months.
Below is a list of changes and new mechanics that I want to add to the game.
Ship coloring
I have already made the first preparations in this direction and adjusted the models so that it will be possible to color individual parts of the ships.
New pirate base
Research outposts These will be pirate stations that affect the tier of pirate ships. At the beginning, pirates will not have any research outposts, but over time their locations will be generated randomly. There will be a maximum of 5 such outposts, and each one will increase the tier of pirate units.
Battle station These will be objects placed at a considerable distance from the player’s main base. Their task will be to launch salvos of rockets toward the player’s bases, capable of destroying ground infrastructure. The only effective defense will be building a strong force field or anti-missile silos.
New ground structures to build in the base
Radar Used to scan the area and detect incoming rockets. The higher the radar level, the greater the threat detection range.
Anti-missiles Ground silos that launch interceptor missiles designed to shoot down pirate rockets.
Force field tower Special towers placed in the base, creating a protective force field grid.
Force field generators The more generators are built, the greater the durability of the force field and the more damage it will be able to absorb.
Reactor A building that consumes erebit and generates large amounts of energy.
Portals Structures built near asteroids, enabling fast travel for the main ship and its escort to distant areas of space. Their operation will require large amounts of energy.
Trading stations
Neutral trading stations where it will be possible to sell surplus materials and exchange them for currency. The acquired currency will make it possible to purchase, among other things, new blueprints, rare resources, and hire technicians.
Increasing the maximum building level
I plan to increase the maximum upgrade level to 10.
New building schematics
It will become possible to discover new building schematics. They will serve the same functions, but will have a different framework and appearance.
Tower defense mode
The mode will activate after repelling 10 waves of pirate attacks on the base. A portal will open near the main base, from which subsequent waves of enemies attacking the base will emerge at defined time intervals.
To further strengthen the defense, it will be possible to build new defensive structures:
gravitational buoys — attracting enemy units,
explosive buoys — dealing area damage and knocking enemies back,
slowing buoys — reducing the movement speed of enemy units.
Co-op
The ability for friends to join your session, build together, and fight pirates together.
Controller support
This is quite a complicated topic, but I plan to add full controller support.
Cloud save
I also plan to add cloud save support to make it easier to transfer progress between devices.
