changedCompletely reworked steering wheel support Steering wheel support has been reprogrammed from the ground up. This should fix many issues related to button detection and button assignment, especially for less common steering wheels and custom controller setups.

Hi everyone!

We’ve just released WorldDrive version 0.1.3 — our biggest and most important update so far. This version brings a completely reworked steering wheel support system, major performance improvements, richer environments, and several smaller visual and AI updates.

Completely reworked steering wheel support Steering wheel support has been reprogrammed from the ground up. This should fix many issues related to button detection and button assignment, especially for less common steering wheels and custom controller setups.

Significant performance improvement and smoother gameplay We made important optimization changes that should make it easier to reach and maintain 60 FPS, especially on medium-spec PCs. Gameplay stutters should now be eliminated, resulting in a much smoother driving experience.

Added missing forests and increased vegetation density Several missing forest areas have been added, and existing forest zones are now denser and more natural-looking. This should make the world feel fuller, more varied, and closer to the real environment.

New and more varied tree models We added new tree models to make the environment look more natural and less repetitive.

Updated curb texture Curbs now use an improved texture, making road edges look better and more consistent with the overall environment.

Minor AI traffic improvements We also made a few smaller adjustments to AI traffic behaviour. These are not the final AI improvements, but another step toward making traffic more stable and predictable.

Thank you for all your feedback, reports and patience. We’re continuing to improve WorldDrive step by step during Early Access, with your feedback helping us decide what to focus on next.
