We wanted to make a multiplayer game, even though we had never made one before, because we believe it offers something special. We believe multiplayer games offer two kinds of experiences.

  • Gameplay
changedWe believe multiplayer games offer two kinds of experiences. One happens inside the game, through the mechanics, strategy, and gameplay. The other happens outside the game, in the laughs shared with friends, the stories that come out of each match, and the memories that stay with you.
addedWe all loved the idea right away, because using cards could add so much strategy to the game. Players could react in real time, surprise each other, and come up with clever moves on the spot. That made everything feel more alive and fun.

When we started discussing ideas, we quickly leaned toward social deduction. These games are chaotic, funny, and full of great moments with friends. Both the in-game experience and the social layer outside the game felt important, and we wanted Who Do Voodoo to embrace both aspects of multiplayer play.

But as much as we enjoyed these types of games, we also felt that they lacked a certain depth. We started asking ourselves what it would look like to take that social energy and mix it with more strategy and worldbuilding.

During one of our brainstorming sessions, we realized that all of us really love card games. That got us thinking: what if we made a social deduction game where players could attack each other using cards?

We all loved the idea right away, because using cards could add so much strategy to the game. Players could react in real time, surprise each other, and come up with clever moves on the spot. That made everything feel more alive and fun.

In a way, the game we’re building now is our way of exploring that question.

Have you ever had a game idea that started from a small “what if” question? What was it?
