Lore prologue about "Whispers Of The Void" Universe

Long ago, before life existed on Earth, the Galactic Confederation united four powerful civilizations: Kartam, Varn, Sarus, and Kiri. They maintained peace with immense armies aboard colossal motherships, all powered by a precious resource—Edem.

But over time, the Kartam vanished, merging into a "one mind" and leaving the galaxy. Without them, the remaining three civilizations waged war, culminating in a massive battle in the Yarus system, on the planet Cirus, each vying for control of Edem.

In the heat of battle, an unexpected catastrophe struck—Cirus collapsed under its own mass, consuming the entire system and most of the fleets. The survivors limped back to their systems, too weakened to continue the conflict.

With Edem now scarce and scattered across asteroid fields, the shattered factions formed a new Confederation. To preserve the balance, strict laws were established, restricting the use of Edem to small merchant ships and light vessels. Thus, the new Confederation endures, bound by these fragile rules.
