1.0 Launch News

today I finally want to talk to you about the planned 1.0 launch of What Is The Ghost, the official farewell to Early Access.

The game has been out for quite a while now, and honestly, I’m extremely grateful for everything that has happened since then. Thanks to your feedback, development improved incredibly fast. Many systems have been reworked, multiplayer is now running very smoothly, and we currently have barely any major bugs left. On top of that, the game already offers a lot of content.

🌟 The game currently includes:

• 9 Different Ghost Types

• Skilltree

• Prestige System

• Hardcore Mode

• Daily & Weekly Quests

• Charakter Customization

• Skin Shop

• Local Leaderboard

• Global Leaderboard

• Secrets

And even with all of that, it still doesn’t feel “finished” to me yet, in a good way. There are still new maps, more ghosts, additional content, and overall polishing coming.

Please keep actively playing the game, reporting bugs, sharing ideas, being honest with your opinions, and helping me make the 1.0 launch as good as possible. Every bit of feedback helps tremendously and directly influences development.

💰 Price Adjustment

At release, the price will most likely increase to $12.99. However, there will be a solid 30% launch discount for the first 7–14 days. This could still change before release, but that’s the current plan.

What Is The Ghost is a unique 2D ghost hunting game designed to be a more relaxed and atmospheric alternative to games like Phasmophobia, while still having its own identity, style, and long-term progression system.

You can easily invest dozens of hours into leveling, prestiging, unlocking content, and hunting ghosts together with friends. The game is meant to feel like a full experience, and the price should reflect that.

If everything goes according to plan, I want to release version 1.0 just in time for the Halloween-Festival October 26th, 2026.
