Update #6 BIG CONTENT

addedDo you enjoy our humble creation? = We will eat that motivation on naked bread and push a stellar effort to make a bit more extra content. We make money from our humble creation? = We will add more content with a more professional pipeline perspective, not very motivating to the heart but it pays the bills and at the end of day this is very important. You don't like our humble creation? = We respect your opinion, we will try better next time and if possible we will try to improve it in the limit of funding but eventually, we cannot spend huge time working on something that "might" be good so we need to know when to cut our losses and move on. Surely this does not mean we won't fix the bugs & maintenance. We care about our brand and no matter the outcome we will provide full professional support in fixing all critical bugs. We like to be fully transparent with our audience.
addedBallance: - we made the apartment encounter give 2 hunger feed instead of one to better balance the new hunger mechanic - we added different hunger < food mechanic cost for the different difficulty settings(the tooltip is not working but we will update that one too soon). 15 for easy mode, 30 for normal mode, 50 for hard mode, and 75 for nightmare mode.

addedWarehouse - DEFCON 5 - increase map pool > more gameplay time + replaibility - more common components in order to better balance the components(yes, we noticed many of you had a lot of rare and legendary components but very little common components so we decided to go big and try to balance them via environment map design not trough just changing numbers) - secret hidden 40mm because we noticed some of you asked to find more 40mm, well now we made such a design that we have 40mm in almost all new maps but they are mostly all hidden in secret place for you to discover)

So let's start with our situation Update, the bad news first.

The release results are far below our expectations.

But even though we received so little support, that little support was AWESOME, we noticed players who already finished the game 7 or 8 times in the first week of release, seeing you so invested in our humble creation with your stories on our Discord made our hearts grow, and for you, FOR YOU we dedicate this EXTRA content update!

I don't know how other indie developers are but for us, the situation is as follows:

UPDATE TIME

Ballance: - we made the apartment encounter give 2 hunger feed instead of one to better balance the new hunger mechanic - we added different hunger < food mechanic cost for the different difficulty settings(the tooltip is not working but we will update that one too soon). 15 for easy mode, 30 for normal mode, 50 for hard mode, and 75 for nightmare mode.

NEW MAPS:

  1.   2. Greenhouse - DEFCON 5 - increase map pool > more gameplay time + replaibility - easy way to learn about Network object mechanics - More Blood sample data quest progress because we noticed that blood sample data progress from the game is at the limit and many reached the ending without having this side quest complete - more common components in order to better balance the components

  3. Back Alley - DEFCON 4 - increase map pool > more gameplay time + replaibility - we thought about bringing a fresh type of gameplay approach, this map is not focused on a defensive approach but rather focused on aggressive gameplay, you need to push forward in the back alley of the city to find your way out before to many infected swarms your strike team - more common components in order to better balance the components

  4. Grocery Shop - DEFCON 4 - increase map pool > more gameplay time + replaibility - more common components in order to better balance the components - more food + hunger feed objects in order to better balance the new food mechanic - more challenging map design with 2 entrance points

  5. Back Alley 2 - DEFCON 2 - increase map pool > more gameplay time + replaibility - we thought about bringing a fresh type of gameplay approach, this map is not focused on a defensive approach but rather focused on aggressive gameplay, you need to push forward in the back alley of the city to find your way out before to many infected swarms your strike team - more common components in order to better balance the components - Interesting spot to make quick path decision

  6. Streets - DEFCON 2 - increase map pool > more gameplay time + replaibility - cola machines to better balance hunger stats - biggest map the game engine can handle, its huge - push forward & don't look back type of gameplay/objective

  7. Lab 3 - DEFCON 1 - increase map pool > more gameplay time + replaibility - new approach, defend + push forward type of gameplay - balance better a final chance at having more blood sample data quest - connecting with Chromosome Evil 1 lore

What will happen next?

This month we will be focusing on fixing bugs because surely such a huge update will generate some new bugs. So if you encounter bugs, don't be afraid, do not panic, we are here, tell us how to reproduce and we will fix.

Also this month the second focus will be to polish the game balance.

At the end of this month, the game will be at this point at 101% from all points of view. And after this month ends we will only provide bug fixing in case we missed any critical bugs and reports that come later.

There is also a small possibility that we might release a Map Editor DLC in the future or some content DLC but these are conditioned by how the game performs on Steam so we will not make any kind of promises in this regard.

As for our studio's future, we don't know yet, we might quit game dev and return to our day job or we might take our chances for one more small project. We will make a public announcement in this regard soon.
