We’re beyond excited here at Warped Games. Our dream of making a game is finally becoming a reality. September marked a huge milestone: for the first time, people outside our team were able to download and play Warped Universe, experiencing the full gameplay loop for themselves.
Our closed beta launched last month, and the response was incredible. The first wave of testers stormed the portal and dove straight into our new universe. What started as a handful of players grew more than tenfold by the end of the month.
One of the most rewarding sights has been seeing testers play for hours on end, some for over 12 hours in a single sitting, simply because they’re having so much fun. Fun is the hardest thing to create in a game, and while we love building the weird, psychedelic world of Warped Universe, our biggest goal has always been to make it fun. Seeing players stay up all night exploring and working together to expand the map means the world to us. Huge thanks to all our testers for making this such an incredible month.
Beta testing has also been invaluable for feedback. From the moment players logged in, we began gathering notes on bugs, design tweaks, optimization, and features. That fresh perspective has helped Warped Universe improve in every way in just a few short weeks.
With that momentum, we’re charging ahead toward our next big goal, being ready for Steam Next Fest, running October 13–20. We’d love for everyone to jump in and help us show the world what Warped Universe is all about. Mark your calendars!
The portal opens October 13 on Steam!
